For those of you who live around NW GA, when does the pre-rut and rut usually kick in?

I hunt the Holland area.

I hunt right before Holland closer to Summerville. It seemed last year the rut was around the beginning of Nov. I could be completely wrong, we just moved up here last October. I think there's map on GON that tells you. Good luck

Pre-rut starts the day they lose their velvet.

Be in your stand as much as you can around Thanksgiving...actually from Nov 18 is when the younger ones are cruising, then around Nov 26-Dec 2 is prime.

The later October lull has seem to hit around now for me. Happens every year until halloween. But then again Im not in chattooga.

Lived in Chattanooga County for 13 years before being transferred to Lee. I lived on the Gore-Subligna road below Summerville. most of my chases and rutting activity were near Thanksgiving. Most years I usually saw a very strong second rut between Christmas and New Years. I can’t tell you how many “nice” bucks I killed there after unwrapping Christmas presents.
