Proper steps to address trespasser ladder stand

I located a fairly new ladder stand on a recently acquired a lease. The property owner told no one had permission to hunt the property in 10 years. The stand is located approximately 70 yds from the property line and 100 yrs from a house which I suspect is home to the trespassers. I have attached a note to the stand informing that they do not have permission to hunt the property and to remove asap. I also posted the property line. Should go ahead and contact dnr wait to see if stand is removed?

Maybe knock on door of neighbors, politely inform them you have leased the land next door. Ask if they know anything about the ladder.

Be friendly and reinforce that you hope to have a friendly relationship going forward.

If this does not get the stand removed, then look for next steps.

You need a good relationship with all neighbors if possible. I suggest you visit/call/write all adjoining land owners or lessors as a gesture of friendship. If the ladder is there from any of their doing they will claim it. If not then it’s yours.
Good luck on the new lease !!!
