PSJ offshore 6/28: A rough ride

Took a quick trip to Port St Joe for an afternoon trip out with lady j charters, typically as the noaa so often does the wave forecast for 2-3ft was only on a computer screen and the reality was 4-6ft. 900hp should make a quicker trip but we managed pretty well. Only complaint you could make was the action was fast enough that the mate was running wide open and there wasn't good photo opportunities. But when you can make it a work trip that makes a fun day at the office.

Thats an awesome trip. This year the weather man has been awful. What is supposed to be 2-3 is easily 4-6 some days.
I went to steinhatchee in April with what was supposed to be mostly smooth for 2 days and 1 day of 1-2s and Thursday was 2-3s, Friday was fairly calm, probably 1-2s, and Saturday was 4-6s, it was calmer when I fished during tropical storm Nestor than that Saturday.

Most apps don't account for the wind. The predictions are somewhat misleading. If you have a 10kn wind go ahead & add 1-2 feet to the wave height prediction. I don't even mess with days where the wind is over 15kn.
