Purchased bow & arrows Bass Pro, arrows cut too short

What most said here I agree with though with today's carbons cutting them isn't 100% necessary like with the old alumni arrows. My arrows are cut to 27" and my draw length is 29". I like my arrows short barely from my rest so the chances of catching the head on the blind or a stray branch is lessened. Loosen up that grip and let the grip rest in the V between thumb and fingers with knuckles pointing straight ahead, not torqued upwards.

You do not know what broad head he is using.

While a mechanical may be fine for clearance. What about a Ram Cat or other large fixed blade heads.

Good point (discussed in this thread).

If your spine is correct, there's really no downside to the arrow extending past the riser, and there are actually some benefits (e.g. heavier arrow, no riser clearance issues w/ a bigger fixed head, BH out in front of hand, etc.).
