Robert Milner training

Looking for advice from those that have tried several methods of training for versatile dogs...what is your opinion about Robert Milner's Retriever Training methods for a small retriever/spaniel that will be used for dove and quail more than ducks? Is his training method a strong foundation for obedience and retrieving like it seems to be? Or is his instruction more specifically for a duck dog only? Any help would be much appreciated

Retrieving is retrieving...no matter what the object is. That said, Milners program is incomplete to say the least with absolutely ZERO reliability built into the complete retrieve. With all of the available training programs out there, there are far better options rather than wasting your time with a one sided training regimine.

Not a fan of Milner. Or his methods. Or the mud he slings toward conventional trainers.
