rocks?

hi all, i live near an old encampment. you cannot remove any artifacts though. i was wondering where i might find some of the material the indians used to knapp arrowheads with. i have made an osage d bow and some arrows, but i cannot find any knappable material anywhere. right now i am using trade points i made from 1" wood boring bits. i live in toccoa and have searched everywhere from rabun to elbert co. no rocks, anybody have any tips for finding any? i think maybe there should be something in this area as the natives found and used it.

There's a site at Elbert County Gun Club that clearly was a work site for the Indians. You can see all sorts of quartz chips and little broken pieces of work. I looked at it for several years before I realized what it was.

I'm sure there is quart all over Elbert County.

thanks ought six, i will try to find someone in that area to let me search. my son in law moved back to habersham co. so ill have to find another contact for elbert.

You can knapp arrow heads outa broken glass bottles etc.
