I said yes but mainly because all I’ve been hunting in Georgia for the past 13 years is public land

You don't need anyone's approval to shoot a deer on your property. If you wanna take him do so. He better not walk by me.....BOOM! He's legal take him. Good luck.

Yet your avatar says different...everyone says they shoot whatever is legal, but yet they post pics of big trophy bucks. Fawns are 100% legal...never see kill pics of grown men with them though.
And how is that? That buck was shot with a bow on public land. Would you have let a 10 point walk on public land? Yeah I like to shoot big deer, what hunter doesn't? At the same time if I get down to the end of the season and don't have enough meat and I have a few chances left to hunt I'll gladly shoot a 4 point. I don't want to hear grumbling from people at camp or face a fine. I hunt for meat, big bucks are a bonus. If I don't have meat I'll shoot whatever.

Wouldn’t you get the most meat from a big buck vs a 4pt? And if it’s meat your after why not shoot the 10 does you’re allowed? Lots of meat there...

I would shoot a doe as well. When I'm looking for meat it doesn't matter. No I don't shoot the first buck that walks out these are my 2 from last year. I just don't want any self righteous hunter telling me what I should be pulling the trigger on. That's why I said I wouldn't join one of those clubs. If you like it good, like I said I don't have a problem with it. We all hunt our own standards.

Looks like you’d fit right in shooting mature bucks like that, lol. I guess there are different definitions of trophies in trophy clubs. Any deer that’s hit 4.5+ is a trophy regardless of antler size. I have a beautiful 10pt that’s at the most 3, but we won’t shoot him until he gets another year or two. We call it “aging our meat”, lol.
And congrats on two very nice deer last year.
