Stake out Pole Heads Up.

Walmart sells 1/2 inch thick 6' fiber glass rods for plant stakes. I made a nice stake out pole out of one for my Kayak. Very stiff. A little heavy but not bad. Had to scrape the blunt end a little with a knife to be able to hammer a 1 & 1/4 inch tee reduced to 1/2 inch on to it for a top handle and used a grinder to sharpen up the pointed end. Total cost less than $10.

I did the same from a piece of stock fiberglass pole I got off amazon but I use mine for more of a stake out pole.Took a grinder and shaped a point on one end then on the other I put a float on ,then the handle from a old fishing rod.I have about 8 ft of rope connected to the pole then a adjustable carabiner on the end that I can hook to my anchor trolly, works great.

Kind of the general idea of how it works,I didnt really need the kayak staked out in the pic because it's sitting in shallow water but when it's hooked to my trolley in current or wind i can fish two different directions by simply running my trolly line from front to back
