State Champs again

Might not be turkey related, but just wanted to share. I have a passion for turkeys, but I also have a passion for baseball. Blessed to be a state championship coach for the 2nd time in 3 years. God has blessed me beyond measure and I'm extremely humbled. An even more special moment this season was being able to Baptize 3 of my players. (Pretty sweep busting some noggins this spring too)

I've been blessed to be involved with Valdosta State footbal and VSU FCA for quite a few years. Every chance I get I tell our coaches that their greatest opportunity isn't winning ball games, it's influencing young men for Christ (of course they have to win ball games to continue to enjoy that privilege).

No question that the coach is the (or one of the) most influential males in a young guy's life. That influence can be used well or used poorly.

Congratulations on the state championship. And thanks for embracing and using your influence well in declaring the Gospel.

A scripture that's much influenced my life for the last 20+ years:

Thanks guys. I prayed at the beginning of the season that the Lord would bless me with a player seeking Baptism. Within 4 days a player approached me about being Baptized. Almost left for an FCA job last year, but felt this was still where I needed to be. It has been a fun ride this year and looking forward to many more.

Thanks for posting congrats, I have 3 boys 8-4 and they just love baseball it spring baseball really takes a toll on turkey season but it's worth it.

PS I might needs some more pointers on helping my boys, sounds like you have the nack for it!
