How much quieter are the Sd than the original?

It's lighter that's the biggest difference to me my dad has the SD and I have the original. His is quieter mostly I can tell a difference when climbing but it feels half the weight even though it's just a few lbs lighter

Are you talking original steel or aluminum? Steel is huge difference. Not much between aluminum and SD in my opinion though

0 additional weight. If you use the great stuff foam, wear rubber gloves and keep it off anything of value. Gasoline will not even cut it off you. It expands alot.

No noticeable weight difference. I used the low expansion kind and little goes a long way. I had to use a metal rod to push some of foam back down so my cables would insert all the way.
