I would love to see what your go to poppers are and can someone do a FLY ALONG? Showing how to make a popper from start to finish.

I tend to use a white popper bug in my 'hood pond. It usually slays them and the bass.
However, I've heard blue is good too

yes boogle bugs especially yellow

3 years ago I eliminated the problem of fly casting and backcasts getting hung in bushes and stuff.
Took fly reel off fly rod.
Secured a Zebco 44 underspin reel w/four pound test mono on handle of rod with electricians tape. Reduced drag level of reel to just about nothing.
Bought some of those plastic "Adjust-a-Bubble" things and put one on line.
Tied black gnat or popping bug or whatever on end. Fished the usual way.
MURDERING the fish and getting the thrill of seeing that fly rod bend and hearing that reel drag squeal.
Not at all "by the purists book", but man oh man....talk about control and fun.
Doubt I'll ever put the fly reel back on again.
I love fishing when it is trouble free......(y):D
