Too late to plant sunflowers?

My wife would like a field of sunflowers. Is it too late to plant. The field is currently fallow. Best way to plant them? Thanks

It depends on what you want them for.
If to feed deer, anytime is good. To hunt over you want about 90 days, depending on viriaty, before they mature. For dove they should probaly already be in the ground.
