Travel advice for weekend of 10-8-04

Just a bit of warning to anyone who may be traveling I-20 just west of Atlanta this weekend.........If you are planning on it....DONT! We are going to be shutting down 3 of the 4 lanes beginning Friday night at 9:00 PM and it will remain that way until at least noon on Sunday. This will be in both the east bound and west bound direction. We will be repairing the I-20 bridges over MLK Jr Drive.

Whats a good way to get around this as I was going to Hancock County from the west side this weekend?

I looked at the map and I could run Veterans Hwy. east over to I-285 and then go south and catch I-20. Does that sound like I would miss the back up?

I will come through Saturday morning.

Don't plan to go that way, but thanks for the tip bubbad

If you are traveling in the wee hours Saturday morning you should have a problem. But anytime Friday night or during the day Saturday will be terrible. It will pretty much shut I-20 down
