My son ate “tamale pie” at a friends house last week. Said it was cornbread mix over ground venison mixed with tomato paste. he wanted to cook dinner tonight and try to recreate.
put about 2 pounds of stew meat in the pressure cooker with various Mexican seasonings and some liquid mojo sauce for 33 minutes. Let it sit for 15 minutes then put it in a cast iron skillet and smashed it with a spatula. Added a can of tomato paste and rotel. Heated over medium high until all the liquid was gone. He put it in a casserole dish and topped with some from scratch corn bread mix. Added jalapeños to one side of it. In about 20 minutes we shall see how it tastes. The meat mix was delicious. 00B72E84-51A5-4A6F-A647-50A7C9F533E6.jpeg8E566022-AB21-4D9D-AA8F-040B2FF88C32.jpegA56CE675-35BF-4EED-BFA7-38E43E9F1533.jpegFEDDB78F-D207-475E-AA6C-6229EDA9A8CC.jpeg

Congratulations to the chef! Great to see kids learning important life skills and enjoying great quality game meat. Nice to give Mom a break too.
