What kind of acorn is this?

My Son brought these home wondering what kind they were and I don't have a clue. The acorn itself looks like a white oak but I have never seen a cap like that. What kind are they anybody?

simialr to sawtooth. I have not paid too close attention to the rree at my sons house to see if the hull is like that or not.

That thar is a Sawtooth oak

here's a pic with a little more detail

i found a big grove of em saturday evening and the ground is covered with fallen acorns but the deer have yet to find them

gonna keep an eye on em for a bit to see if the deer find em
