What kind of acorns are these?

I found these in a dry river bottom. What kind are these?

Look like overcup oak acorns.

Found a lot on the ground. I have never seen them before. Im sure deer eat then but how would you rate them against other acorns?

They are of the red family.
Not as sweet as the whites, but often they are so large and thick that they are a big factor...

Well find them in my creek bottom they are usually numerous and hard hit... thx.
