I have a confirmed wild pear in my yard that has already dropped. But I have another tree that is dropping these now. What kind of tree is this?

That looks like a Callery pear, or an offshoot of a Bradford pear.

Caught some boys from the water department picking them up one day. Are they any good to eat?

Not to me they ain`t. I`ve never known anybody that liked em either. They are an invasive pest, and the suckers can grow some mean thorns.

I call that an Asian Sand Pear. It is a Bradford that has reverted back to its original species.
