Will Wheat and Oats see sprout and grow if planted now?

I have two bags of unopened seed, and an area of soft dirt -wouldnt take a lot to get it under the dirt.

Would at least some of it have a chance to sprout and grow.

Hurricane completely messed us up on planting this year...

It'll grow! Your soil temperature down there is probably around 50 degrees, so it will germinate.

Don't spread it above the normal rates, because I think you'll have a lot germinate.

Yes I’m about to plant some for a dove field in the next week

It's planted as erosion control all winter.
Even if it don't head out, deer will tear up the plants.

I'll let you know in a couple of days how Abruzzi rye did - planted about an acre and a quarter a week ago. Would appreciate you recapping your experience with early planting once you see how it does.
