World Record Bass caught

Did anyone else see in the new GON where the World Record bass was caught in Japan?
It was 1 ounce bigger than George Perrys bass ...but will be counted as a tie instead of beating it,,,by the rules it has to be 2 ounces to beat the record because the fish weight is under 25#!
A lady caught it on a... japan bream/is that a goldfish or coycarp?/ ...and there was a pic of her with the big ol'bass...

Lotsa threads on here about that. Not a local favorite since GA wants to keep that ancient record.

I would not even say it is in the same ballpark since the bass in Japan was caught on live bait.
