The fish in your right hand is an Alabama x Smallmouth hybrid...if you know the angler(s) responsible for the illegal introduction of Smallmouth Bass contact the DNR at 1-800-241-4113. They will never establish a Smallmouth population in Carters Lake but they will compromise the genetic integrity and trophy size potential of native species in the Coosa River system.

BTW nice fish!

You may be partially correct,,,, but the real problem fish is the spots,,,, smallies are one of the best game fish and certainly a great fighter, much better than a LM, and better eating,,,,

Complaining about someone messing up the genes of the spotted bass in a lake? Really????

We've had a lot of discussion in here about the problems of non native bass being introduced into no native habitats and the problems it causes for native species...........Since smallmouth only inhabit a small portion of the entire state of Ga I will have to say largemouth are king in this state.;)I'm afraid it's way too late on some bodies of water to turn the tide now and the damage has been done.
