Seeing these around the house lately and just curious of what they are. This one is about 7” long.

Found seven in my brothers yard one day. They eat worms.

According to WiKi they only get 12” long. I’ve never seen one any bigger than the one in the picture. We always just called them brown garter snakes.

@Nicodemus "schooled" me on these. Mostly nocturnal, bug eating fools.

And Garter snakes can have quite a temper (though they do tame fairly well), but these little jokers are gentle as can be.

They have about the most musk of any snake I've ever handled, too. You pick up a garter, you gonna stink for awhile.
