Got me a Henry .22 WMR. It’s a dark brown wood finish, which i like. Time to go do some hunting on Paulding Forest

Blue Car Body Road is a good place to start. Creeks leading into both lakes up there has some sign.

I really haven’t figured out yet. Ammo is scarce around these parts. Do you recommend anything?

I`d shoot solids in a brand that your rifle patterns best.

CCI 40 grain TMJ is a pretty popular load. Only hog that I’ve killed with a 22 mag has been with Winchester 40 grain JHP.

Its designed around the Savage A22 but I don’t think that would be too much of an issue right?

I shoot normal CCI 40gr game points in my Winchester 225. They run great, the A22s should do fine. I LOVE chasing pigs with that thing. There’s just something super satisfying about running that lever for multiple shots on a group of pigs. One thing I noticed with my cheap 225 is you have to work the action with some assertiveness for proper feeding. I would guess the Henry may be slightly more forgiving.
