Marine Electronics Repair???

Maybe I just need to ante-up and spend $2500+ for new electronics for my boat, but my old Garmin Chartplotter/Sonar/Radar has a tendency to lose the sonar function frequently and the radar function every now and again.

Is there anyone in NE Georgia that could work on this stuff?

I bet I just have corroded wires.

Have you tried coating your plugs with a dielectric and re-seating them? I've had issues in the past with corroded connectors.

I used electrical contact cleaner on them and re-seated them and it didn't make much of a difference. But, I'll try to find some dielectric grease and give that a try.

My marine mechanic (who won't do electrical stuff) said that he has seen the last few inches of copper turned to white dust inside the sheath on boat used in saltwater if everything is not sealed properly.

Still looking for a marine electrical repair person!
