Ordered Ruger Mini 14

Just for plinking and the stray hog for sausage. Any upgrades such as trigger? I'm not interested in turning it into anything special just tune it up a bit

I have always wanted one of those for some reason. I thought it would be a good light gun for hog stalking. Or maybe the mini 30!

Mine shot good groups with the Hornady 50 gr. GMX. Anything heavier would not group. Think mine had a 1:9 twist. Fun gun to shoot too.

Wish they made this in 308....if they did I would buy one for deer hunting in Georgia.

That short of a barrel mini 14 in .308 would put on a fine light show. They do make (Springfield) a m14 carbine in .308. Worth looking into

How about 300BO? Don't see many around but they're out there.

Heck... or even a mini30 in 7.62. He could find one today I'm sure.

my kids would argue with that, have yet to have one run more than 50yards.

I would never hunt deer with 5.56, just too small in my opinion but many do. Was not legal in my youth to deer hunt with any 22 caliber and I do not deer hunt these day.
