Allatoona Tiger Bass? Sorry no pics

Back in the 80's and early 90's we used to catch a bunch of bass from Allatoona Creek that we called Allatoona Tiger Bass.

They had red eyes, very yellowish, and faint vertical bands like a bluegill, or stripes if you will, which coined our term "tiger bass".

What do yall reckon the species was? We caught alot of them.

Was it just a rock bass? I think the COE calls them green sunfish too.

Bartram's bass would not be in Allatoona. They are only in the Savannah river drainage.

Alabama Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Redeye Bass are the only black bass native to the Coosa River drainage. Redeye Bass often have a bronze shimmer like this one...

They didn't look like the redeye's posted in this thread, but google image searching redeye there's a few that look exactly like them. Safe assumption that's what they was.
