Joro Spider protocol?

So what is the protocol if we encounter one of these invasive spiders? Are we supposed to kill them? There is one by my camper at deer camp and he is yuge. When I first saw him he had just caught a yellow jacket in his web and I immediately felt we had something in common. So I gave him a pass but if we're supposed to be killing them on sight I guess I should maybe take him out.

...just joking, seriously.
I kill all I can. Sometimes they get away or disappear into the brush as I'm taking down their web with a with a small cut branch.
Their web will be 3 dimensional. The 2 dimensional webs (flat, circular) are native...

TJay...I’ve grown accustomed to them and let em live. On the farm they tend to build their webs above head high. Took these pics of one this this morn whose web was across one of my interior roads.

I kill everyone I see but doubt that’s going to do any good. They’re here to stay. One thing I’ve noticed is when you kill one from the web, there doesn’t seem to be another one to take its place.

They are all over Cumming. I bet we had over 50 in our yard. I go around and hit them with Home Defence. Seems to keep them at bay for a bit. I kill all I can reach.

I kill them in hope to keep their numbers in check but probably not going to make a difference. I have to concede that the world we live in is now made up of non native everything from everywhere. I try to keep the harmful stuff under control and leave the others be. Its hard to say at this point what the joro spider will mean to its new home.

I would let them walk if I had any. As long as they are catching mosquitoes, flies and wasps, they are OK in my book.

I gave up on killing them, seemed like a waste of time. I'd kill 20 in my field and have 20 more the next morning. I think your probably about to have some Jim. I'm in Bold Springs and don't think your too far from me.

I did figure out that spraying talstar mixed with taurus sc on all the places I didn't want them helped. Under the eaves and under the porch roof.

Are they the ones that look similar in size to a writing spider? They are all over the place around me, don't think I've seen a writing one this yr.

I haven’t seen any here yet but I’ll treat them just like fire ants. Kill them all on my place

As many as I have seen and smashed I have yet to see an egg sack on their webs.

My plan is to kill every one I see. I don’t believe for a minute they don’t hurt native populations of stuff
My blueberry bushes were covered in them and there was over 50 honeybee's in the webs.

I teed off on one with my son's baseball bat as he was wrapping a honeybee up. I knocked that sucker for a home run! just a week ago.

They are making an impact!

They all DIE! And I spray and kill every one on my place.
