1st winter rabbit hunting

My family hunts almost everything in season but never really hunted small game. Last month some friends invited my son and I to go rabbit huntin with them and we had an absolute great time!!
My son had to adjust for how fast the rabbits were and how far ahead of the dogs they were and after a few no shots then a few misses he started gettin the hang of it!




So we have thick yucky briars behind our house on our 6 acres so for the past week mt stick and I have been the beagle for my son. Having a great time!!




We will definetly talk to our friends and go on more rabbit hunts next winter. We've enjoyed it and the rabbit meat has been great. My son wants me to be his beagle for these last few evenings of rabbit season. Maybe we'll get another!

It’s hard to beat a good rabbit hunt with the young uns. There’s a lot more critters in the woods besides a stinking deer. His smile says it all.

I'm so focused on deer and turkey that I unintentionally skipped small game huntin with him. But now we're really into it!
I think the fast action, the dogs barking while they work, and being able to talk and laugh with the company around us makes rabbit huntin fun
