5. Date Verification options that will be accepted are: Cell Phones with time and date, Newspapers, Tablets with time and date.

7. YOUR FACE MUST BE VISIBLE IN THE PICTURE OF THE HUNTER WITH THE BIRD AND DATE VERIFICATION OR YOUR BIRD WILL NOT COUNT.
8. The gobbler must still be completely intact (beard, legs, and fan attached) in the pics.
9. You have 5 days from kill to decide as a team whether a bird will count towards your score. If it's posted in the Weekly Kill Thread, it gets scored and counted. So talk to your teammates before you post!
10. The date MUST be visible and CLEAR for all to see.
11. You have 24 hours to edit your pics after you post them. If you edit your post after that the post is void.
12. Please have your teammates look over your pictures before you post them in the kill thread

Judging
1. There are 5 anonymous judges that will evaluate the pictures and assign points. The members entering the birds will not assign points as in previous years.
2. Each judge will evaluate the pictures and give me his/her assessment of what the score should be. I will take the 5 scores and average them to the nearest half point for the final score.
3. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the competition will win.

How Birds will be Judge
1. Jakes=2 points
2. Adult Gobblers= 5 points (Adult standards for this contest will be any gobbler with a 6 inch beard or longer. If it's close, a picture with a ruler/tape will be needed to verify. In the rare case that an adult gobbler has beard rot, a picture of the spurs lying on a newspaper to verify the date or a picture of a FULL fan and date verification will be accepted. It will be the judges’ decision to whether or not the gobbler is an adult.)
3. 10 inch beard or longer= 1 Bonus point
4. 11 inch beard or longer= 2 Bonus points
5. 12 inch beard or longer=3 Bonus points
6. Multi-bearded turkeys=1 Bonus Point plus Bonus points for the longest beard. Must have a pic to clearly show the base of the beards. Multi-Bearded jakes are worth 3 points.
7. 1 ¼ inch spur or longer=2 Bonus Points
8. 1 ½ inch spur or longer=3 Bonus Points
9. All Spur Bonus Point pictures must be measured from any inch line

Bonus Point Pictures
1. NO CLOTHE TAPES
2. New for 2015 (6) Six strands of the beard are required to hit that length to qualify for bonus points.
3. Photos taken for beard or spur bonus points must include the same Date verification option (such as cell phone, tablet, and newspaper) along with enough of the bird, to verify dates and that beard and legs are still attached to the turkey. Photos that don't make this reasonably clear will not be accepted.
4. Extra pictures will be needed to verify the bonus points (Close-ups against a ruler to show length or beard, spurs and multi's).
5. As stated above the same item used for date verification should be included in the pics.
6. Once you submit your bird for bonus points that is it...There will be no PM's sent asking you for better pictures.
7. You have 24 hours from the time you post your original pic to edit that pic...After that it’s set.
8. The gobbler must still be completely intact (beard, legs, and fan attached) in the pics.
9. All members will have 5 days to submit a kill (So last day to submit a kill is May 20th).
10. Please have your teammates look over your pictures before you post them in the kill thread

Longest beard and spur competition
1. There will be separate threads started in the turkey challenge forum for longest beard and longest spur. The first person to enter a bird this year should enter into the spur and beard categories.
2. After that, you’re only allowed to enter a bird if you think it beats or ties the previous bird.
3. Pictures must be clear and unmistakable. This will eliminate everyone wondering who is leading the "longest" categories.
4. The bird has to be accepted in the team entry to be eligible for the spur and beard category.
5. Once again, once you enter your bird, there will be no PM's sent if the pictures are not right...The bird will be deleted and disqualified.
6. Please have your teammates look over your pictures before you post them in the kill thread

In case of Ties
All Ties will be broken by the date and time of the entry. The member that enters his/her bird first will win the tiebreaker. The first team to post the last bird of the tying score wins.

These are the rules. They will not be changed. We have a strict “no whining policy. You are welcome to voice concerns to me via PM. I will hear you out, talk to the other judges and make a final decision as fairly as possible. Do not PM the Mods/Admins with issues in the challenge.

After that, the matter is closed and if you continue to complain you will be removed from your team and they will be a man down.

Make sure you read the rules and understand them. Every year there are several birds to be disqualified due to members simply not following the rules. Especially on taking pics of what is required to be in the pics. Before you sign up make sure that you are clear on the rules.

*Word of Advice-Take as many photos as you possibly can. Take them from different angles and make sure the glare is not covering the date on the cell phones and tablets. It’s a pain in the rear sometimes but taking good pictures is the most important thing you can do for your team. You can kill the biggest bird ever but it won’t mean a thing in this contest if the pics aren’t good.

Cloth tapes stretch. Steel tapes do not.

That would only make a measurement against the users favor. They could be bunched allowing for an inaccurate reading. Cloth tapes are the most proper device you could use to deterine scoring of deer or turkey.

I think the rule is just there to provide a little more uniformity and have no problem with it either way.
