300 blk sub kill

Well double lung with cast 228gr 300 blk subsonic at 25 yards works. He folded up in about 30 yds. Looked like ice picked entry, couldn't see until I pulled skin back. Exit was about dime size.

Glad it worked out for you, nice buck!

But I gotta ask...Are you satisfied enough with those results to keep on doing it, or stretch it out to say 75 or 100 yards?

Not being a smarty britches or bashin', I really wanna know what you think because I've seen enough from you here to know that you know what you're doing...

Nope, longer shots I would use super sonic. This was bow range only. The ballistics is like shooting with a 45 acp. 100 yds would be 2 little energy in my opinion. 25 is is my limit. I was happy with results though.

I also think shot placement is key. Miss the lungs too low or too far back, I think the results would have been a long track. There was very little blood and limited trauma.

He ran like a scalded dog when it him him. But not far:)

Nice buck. Was there alot of damage and blood inside of his chest cavity? Obviously it did its job. Congrats

I'm honestly surprised you got an exit wound. We're sitting with one in the bog pod as we speak with 150 grain fusions in it. They hammer deer, I haven't shot one with a subsonic round yet. Nice buck and congrats!

Cast lead boolit water dropped wheel weight lead. Double lung. It is pretty hard lead.

No. Bleeding profusely from mouth, but that was it. No ruined meat. I didn't open chest cavity. Quarter out, back strap and other meat. Don't open guts if I can help it.

Interesting - I only have 2 acres and tree hugger neighbors so I'm using my suppressed .300blk with 190g Hornady sub-x. I know shot placement is key, I'm hoping to drop a deer without him going to a neighbors property. I'm also limiting my shot to 25 yards.
