308 deer loads

My 1 in 10 .308 was really digging on the winchester 180 grain power points for years but as I went to 180 + bullets in my various 30-06 rifles I thought I would move to 150 grain in the 308 after trying various factory options I settled on federal power points and was very happy as well. Then I loaded some with a medium charge of 4064. That rifle went from an inch to inch and a half to a ragged hole. But those federals were the best factory rounds for me..... Cheaper too

My favorite bullet for the .308 is the Hornady 150 grain interbond. If using factory loads I like the superformance. A deadly killer with a minimum of meat damage. Coming in a close second is the Hornady 150 grain interlock soft point.
Neither of these gives that devasting explosiveness that ruins so much meat.

They don't 'splode but poke a big hole all the way through at any angle.
