I am seriously considering giving the .460 Rowland another try. Anyone hunting with one? The plan would be to grab a S&W 625-3 in .45 ACP and send it to Clark’s for the rechamber

I have XD 45 with the Rowland barrel. I've hunted with it a couple of time, but haven't killed anything with it yet.11428177_10153476737775439_3137560848400173094_o.jpg

Is that safe? I have seen several 625s in 45 colt that had blown up because of 44mag level loads. They are just not as robust as Rugers.

According to Clark it is safe. Any gun can be blown up if you go nuts, even a Ruger. According to John Linebaugh the 25 in .45 Colt is a lot stronger than people give it credit for. I do not plan on a diet of heavy Rowland loads, most will be the ACP and Auto-Rim for fun and target shooting
