My youngest son has one in his collection. I never did fire it that I can recall, but I've spotted for him shooting coaster sized turtles while visiting his oldest brother, and they would pretty much vaporize. The bream and crawdads loved it!
I've been deer hunting with the 7mm-08 for the last 10 years and it's a great little cartridge. A friend, who's loves the 300 Win Mag, called it a chipmunk gun...
Truth be known the 7mm-08 is probably the best all around caliber for southern whitetails, low recoil, good ballistics, capable of long distance accuracy and kills, and doesn't damage a lot of meat like magnum calibers, if I hadn't hunted with a .243 and .308 for years I would probably have one,
I’ve always wanted to own one but I’m at the point where I don’t like to add new calibers. I have enough trouble as it is hunting with the rifles I own now lol
