A Big Trappin' What If???? Re: Bears...

Well, here goes an interesting scenario, and I am curious what some of y'all might say.

Last night for the first time, we got a bear on camera at The Goat Pen...

Now, he ain't supposed to be in the neighborhood, but here he is...

So that makes it within the realm of possibility that he could step in a trap, and get partially pinched. After a snatch or two, he could decide not to fight it, and lay down and take a nap.

This could be even more possible with a young or smaller bear. Now a cub or one up to about 50-75 pounds, I could see releasing with the help of a partner or two.

But what the heck would you do with a grown one???

I only ask this, because I AM THE GUY that would end up having this problem to solve...

Thanks for all the good help, friends!!!

:LOL::rofl:

We as a neighborhood are hoping that he was just passing thru...

Maybe he didn't find any tasty garbage cans to keep him hanging around.

If he becomes a problem, I will likely wind up in the middle of trying to "handle it"... ?

It would be hard for me not to dispatch him and make a rug myself. I know that’s not right, so I guess I’d figure out a way to release him. Maybe put the front end loader down on him just before smashing his foot off and try to release him that way?
