That makes the third black one this year for me. It seems they are not as uncommon here as they are other places.I'm jealous of that black phased coyote...I'm still waiting on one!! Congrats!

Good job , I got 8 traps set yesterday and only had a Coon this morning , got to start somewhere I guess, he was about as big as a coyote
Hard to believe but at the competition Sat. morning a father and daughter trapping on different tracts both brought in black coyotes! One of 'em was the "Bartram's Wolf" critter with the white patch on its chest.I'm jealous of that black phased coyote...I'm still waiting on one!! Congrats!
All 3 of the black ones I caught have had white patches on their chest.Hard to believe but at the competition Sat. morning a father and daughter trapping on different tracts both brought in black coyotes! One of 'em was the "Bartram's Wolf" critter with the white patch on its chest.
They're pretty common around my place about halfway down the SC/GA line. They all have the white chest spot. That makes the third black one this year for me. It seems they are not as uncommon here as they are other places.
Much rabbit night activity(breeding season-Fannin) so maybe now is great time to set traps-I'm not a trapper(yet).
