A good guideline for identifying false teachers and misguided followers.

It occurred to me tonight that this may be a good guideline to follow.
False teachers and misguided followers are quick to point out what God GAVE them.
True teachers and true followers will point out what God SHOWED them about either Himself or themselves. The former is a hallmark of materialism, the later is a hallmark of a relationship.

I think that from these simple ideas one could start a revival or a ministry to rich folk and politicians at least.

I've been known to draw a very similar comparison, but I used egocentric and theocentric. Yours is right on for teacher and follower.
