I’m finding plenty of whites, but they all seem waterlogged. I peeled the shell off of several and they have the consistency of an unripe muscadine. Found these around 2200 Saturday. Small but look good inside.

I was at our place outside Hayesville NC today, about 2,450 ft. Red oaks are loaded and white oaks looked good.

Very spotty. while i saw a small bear in a white oak. I checked a dozen more in the same area. Some had none. Others only had a few.

Went to top of ridge that tops out around 2.600. Lots of white oaks in the grove i went to check. Some reds. None dropping yet. Unfortunately only saw fresh pig sign.

Checked a woodlot at home in the foothills. Some whites have plenty. Some only have a few. No reds that i saw.
