Ammo difference

Anyone have a must have ammo for their firearms? A favorite so to speak.
I kinda like Georgia Arms Ammo, it's actually fairly decent ammo. Sometimes, in certain firearms it seems a little dirty. But all the time it runs good in my 380, 9mm 44 mag and 45-acp. Haven't tried it in my 7mm 08 or 243. I really need to though.
What do ya'll shoot for factory ammo?

I use unknown munitions 143 eldx for my 6.5. My .308 likes fed premium trophy bonded 180s. The kids 6.5 gets factory hornady eldx. Just depends on the rifle

I used to buy a whole lot of stuff from Georgia Arms back in the day.

Always nice ammo at a nice price.

In recent years, they don't have much in stock when I look in on them...I wish they still had the .357 Deer Stoppers.

I noticed this as well. They're out of 230gr 45 acp at the moment...

I used some maybe 15-20 years ago. The 7mm RM was kinda hot and I tried some others but don't remember what they were but it was similar. I haven't tried any pistol. I would try them again. I'm not sure I would call it factory ammo but with new brass and different equipment than the "factory" uses it could be better. Most Federal blue box and some of the premiums were good for me. My Win Mag puts 180gr Silver box Winchester Power Points in just about the same hole. I have had good success with some of the Hornady Custom too. I have had the least success with Core-Lokt...but I sure like that empty brass it leaves

I’ve been using Norma recently. 6.5 CM, .45 acp, and 9mm.
It runs clean and consistent as best I can tell.
I used Remington Corelocks in my 7mm Mag for years and loved them. Then Remington started to have issues and the quality went down IMHO.

Federal blue box is consistent for me, use it as my quality control for handloading. Speed and 1-inch groups are consistent.

I've used Ga Arms in 357, 9mm and 45ACP. All has worked great. I drive down I-20 often so always just stopped by. Bought several canned heat boxes of those three just before Covid, and still have a little bit of it.

The core lokt in 243 Winchester was always a very accurate ammo, at least for me any ways...

Back in the day.
The ole man and I used to load up some good stuff.
190 gr or 215 gr swc loaded with 7 grns of unique was one heck of a great squirrel load.

Yeah, it was out of a 44 mag pistol.
But that load was very reasonable for hunting squirrels, if you understood it...

For .22 its CCI mini mags or stingers all the way for reliability. I did buy some cheaper bricks when pickings were slim. For 9mm I shoot a lot of Blazer, ball ammo performs well enough for my needs. It also functions well in each 9mm I have. I roll my own with everything else.

Mostly shoot hand loads but Norma and Federal have been good in both rifles.and handguns.

Still have some of the Ga. Arms 158gr Deerstoppers loaded with gold dots in .357Mag from the 1990s. Those puppys are HOT. They were produced back when a handgun had to have a minimum 500ft/lbs of energy to hunt deer in Ga. Seem to remember velocity listed over 1700fps. Not sure but seem to also remember them being rated +P+. Better have a sturdy firearm.
Shot two deer back in the day with them from an 8" revolver and got complete pass through the bread basket and true to the label a stopped deer. Not sure if theyre still available but they sure do work.

I have some Corbon 305gr FPPN I'd like to try on a deer from my lever gun. Says they run 1250ish from a pistol and over 1,000 ft lbs. Looks like they only offer that bullet in .444 ammo now

I used to keep this on hand…..but went on to get the needed gear to make my own.

I was looking at their stuff here awhile back.
At one time their ”remanufactured” ammo was priced really well in comparison to other ammo.

The accuracy success of those Wilson 200gr lswc loads hooked me. I soon began the process of acquiring gear to load my own.
