Another file knife

Resurrected an ancient rusted up Black Diamond file and paired it with a superb block of desert ironwood. Handle shaping took forever….all handwork, just wood rasps and sandpaper. Blade took a great heat treat! Really pleased at how it turned out. Thanks for looking.

I have some old- old like when they were made in USA that I been saving for a long time.

A lot of the good ones are 01 tool steel with the tang annealed.

I made a few when I worked on the shop floor out of different tool steels but never made one out if a file.
M2 and M4 make really good knives that will hold an edge. D2 will work too.

They are beautiful when you can still see some file teeth. ?

Can someone recommend a belt sander and/or combination of a 90 degree pad for knife making and a little gunsmithing?

I got money for other stupid stuff but the priority rate on this venture is Harbor Freight or somewhere like that.
