The 'yote looks perfectly healthy to me. If it was rabid, it would probably not have turned away. Definitely a scary encounter.

Unfortunately it will take an actual attack to make some folks get "woke". PETA would likely blame the parents for allowing the child outdoors.

Still worry about hogs more than I do coyotes as far as getting attacked or rushed. Been chased up a tree a couple of time with hogs.

A semi-famous female singer was killed by a pack of coyotes a few years ago while she was hiking. But, as far as things I worry about, coyote attacks are pretty durn close the bottom of my list.
