Arkansas

Just spent 4 days in Stuttgart, Arkansas with 2W outfitters duck hunting. Saw a lot of birds and had some slow times, but overall it was a great trip. We (6 of us) ended up with 41 ducks (mallards, gadwalls, wood ducks, green wing teal, and spoon bills) and 2 speckled geese. Being my first duck hunt outside of Georgia, it was amazing to see the ducks work and cup into the spread of decoys, and see balls of green wing deal come screaming by was awesome.

I just got back from fischer Arkansas, we hunted the cache river and some rice/beans, the fields weren’t hitting on hardly anything, did pretty good in the woods, nothing like a green head cupped up and coming in your face, I seen some boats bounce around like ping pong balls in that timber, it was unreal how hard some of those guys run into trees,
There was a lot of water up there, the river was about 5-7’ out of the banks and rising, the geese were unreal, I seen thousands upon thousands at one time

Anyone who has ever fired a shot in anger at a duck deserves a trip to the Stuttgart area when conditions are right. That being said more than a few trips and many people realize exactly what they are when visiting the area...a nuisance with some money. I was on a lease outside of Stuttgart for 12 years and it was fantastic BUT after about the 3rd year it was obvious that the local folks would do anything for a buck. Some of the guys in our lease would get them to do so just 'cause they could. I like to treat people how I want to be treated and hope they do the same...but there are so many jerks with leases in the area and so many locals willing to do anything to make a buck off visiting hunters I got fed up with it and have only been back a few times in the last 20 years. I hunt with a guy with a family farm 5 miles from the Bayou Meto and could hunt his place just about as often as I like and don't do it because of the attitude of visting hunters and locals alike. There are some good people out there but many of them loose sight of how they should treat folks when money is involved.
