Best Drummer Ever Neil Peart Dead

I was never a real big fan,but Lee's voice was unique,,,,to say the least,,,,
There are songs that it doesn’t bother me as much for some reason. Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, and Workin Man, which my favorite, are all good enough songs that I was able to sort of ignore it.

I got to see him do this live in the Omni from about 50 feet away. HE was incredible. This was about '87 or '88
I was at that concert.

Funny story. Me in my good buddy who is Still a professional drummer would always go to the Omni early and sneak around to the artist entrance. We were hoping we would see Rush To get some autographs. We were very early. The security guy said sorry they're already in the building, so we sat down on the curb and I lit up a smoke. About 20 minutes later we see this man riding up on a bicycle and hes headed in our direction. When he pulls up my friend Morgan said I think that's Neil. I laughed. Sure enough it was him.

He hung out with us for about 10 minutes talking about the tour and drumming. He said that he loved to bicycle so he would have the bus drop him 40 or 50 minutes out of town So he could bicycle alone.

Don't know if I would say he was the best ever, for sure. But he was a good one. I would have liked to have heard him with a better band. He was about 90% of that one. RIP.
For that style of rock I'd say he was the best. Look at what his peers have to say about him. And a better band well no one else in music today is singing, playing bass, and keyboards at the same time like Geddy does. Alex is also not a second rate player at all. Hard to find a trio that can do what these three did :)

As a musician myself, I always appreciated their musical talent. I just didn't like their style of music much. And hated the whiny vocals. :)

I saw Rush a couple years prior to that.

Unbelievable show.

If he wasn't the best drummer ever.....I don't know who is/was.

RIP.

Friend turned me on to Rush in college.
I was into southern rock.
Said this is the best drummer you will ever hear. Still true.
Those sounds take me back to good times.
RIP Neil .

Okay, last one but the boy has a complete set list of rush and other hard rock videos. I guess you could say rush is one of my favorite bands and I like the high pitched vocals. I'm also a big fan of janes addiction and porno for pyros(y)
