Where do you folks go to shop for hunting ammo? Specific local retailers or online stores? Any place that has very competitive pricing? Any place that gives deals on solid case purchases?

Try calling Georgia Arms. They often have things on the shelf that they may not show on the website. Stopped in a couple of weeks ago to pickup some cans of .45 and 9mm, and left with reloading supplies too.

I don't buy hunting ammo, as I reload my own, but I do buy some practice ammo for a couple different calibers, saves time on reloading, try sgammo.com , or outdoorlimited.com , I've bought from both companies, as good a prices as I've found anywhere , and reasonable shipping, especially if you're buying more than a box or two, usually the shipping is about the same for 4 boxes as it is for one. And they generally carry all the major brands, as well as lesser known ones.

When they became expensive I began to copy them by using the hornady red tips in different weights. I use whatever I got and can get.
Im not a reloading expert just know my share.
But have nothing but confidence in any Ga arms ammo.

i agree with you RR. I just never see any merchants discounting Federal Premium. right at beginning of deer season basspro or Academy will run some minor deals; but then nothing the rest of the year. Seems like some local shops would try to make a name for themselves by consistently offering decent prices Or at least announce a sale every once in a while.

Internet, very competitive pricing against one another . . . Able Ammo, Natchez Shooting Supply, Midway USA, Simmons, list goes on and on.
Stay away from Cheaper than Dirt. They should change their name to Cheaper than Gold. You can find a lot of different grain bullets in any given caliber with these companies than what's available in local stores.

Thanks, sadly you are right that internet offers better selections than most brick and mortar retailers in Georgia. Midway is even in poor stock at the moment. Nobody seems to have decent inventory of the most common deer calibers. I can understand .308 and .223 being short, but why .30-06, .270 and 7 mm mag? I guess everyone is ready for mass chaos or Biden getting elected.

There is panic buying on all cartridges. A lot of why 7 Mag is short is because the factories are running the extreme demand stuff instead of 7 Mag. The manufacturers may have a couple dedicated lines that only run one thing, but most of their production lines run multiple calibers and cartridges.

Was out at Georgia Arms this morning to get more 9mm and 45 fuel.
They had a pretty fair selection of various hunting loads for rifles. If you are still looking, definitely worth making a phone call

They have quite a bit of handgun ammo as well. They have limited to one 250 or 500 can per caliber per visit. Take a friend if you need more at the same time.

I buy most of mine from Alexander's in Blairsville.

I checked Basspro Lawrenceville today. Limited to nothing. Cabela’s Acworth. Limited to nothing. Academy Sports Newnan. Limited to nothing. I guess opening day, I will just shoot anything I can find and hope for the best.
