Yes, they are. I think their populations fell when the deer started getting scarce. As the deer numbers rose, the red wolf rose with them, as prey-predator relationships are supposed to work in a healthy ecosystem. It`s interesting to observe, and they won`t hurt the deer herd, although many believe otherwise.

I’ve only seen a handful of those through the years, and they really are cool looking animals.

That one came out at dark-thirty with 5 or 6 regular looking ones.

He actually stood out like a broke thumb. I couldn't see the others without glass. They were going ballistic on the recovery.

Gorgeous! I’ve seen one of them and a bunch of coyotes……..like 2 different animals altogether.
