Building a new "adventure vehicle" or I guess, my retirement exploration vehicle.

Well, dropped off my Gladiator, I should be getting it back in a couple of weeks. Here are a couple of pictures of two that were there, one the business owner's Gladiator and another a customer's who is getting some items added to his. The suspension on my Gladiator is more in line with the owner's as opposed to the customer's. 361612333_10218324269017046_7587199758153911593_n.jpg361623629_10218324506822991_6291622151909800199_n.jpg

I know I like it. It is kind of like an RV (bare bones of course) that will be able to get me away from the crowds on public land. If I am mule deer hunting in Idaho, I can set up shop right where I want to hunt. Right below a ridge, go up there, glass, etc....I spent some time in the Chattahoochee and Nantahala National Forests when I was taking the Gladiator to Ashville and was really impressed with the places I could go.

That makes a world of difference right there. To have everything you need close by saves a ton of time and keeps you more focused on what your after and the time involved

On a completely different note, going to try to hit Superior NF in late September/Early October chasing the salmon run....wanna come along? We can take both of my Jeeps so we can double the scouting ability. You can drive a standard can't you?...lol

That`s what I learned to drive with. :p I just might take you up on that.

You might consider networking with other folks who can get you out of a jam if something happens while you are way out there. Just a thought.

I do, plus I keep Garmin InReach and pay the full subscription for unlimited texts, I also pay the "rescue" insurance that covers any rescue if I hit the SOS button on my InReach. There is a "wilderness rescue" policy you can buy if you have the InReach, if you pay a little extra you can get one to recover your vehicle also. Kind of like Sea Tow for offroad and it covers at sea rescues too. I also network through "Overland Bound" and "Expedition Portal".
