I took some young friends out for a trip today. I had low expectations with the wind forecast, but it was the only day they could fish. We went to the beach first to see if a stray red was around with no success. The wind started howling so we found a slightly protected area in the river and anchored up for the afternoon. We ended up with about 15 whiting, and a few bonnet heads and blue fish. They had a great time catching some supper and I enjoyed spending a beautiful windy day on the salt. Today I noticed that we caught northern and southern whiting. Note the pic of northern variety.
