I’ve been trying to eradicate this for a few years now. It’s a vine of some sort, anyone know?

It’s pretty good at smothering everything out. I’ve got a good solid acre of it that leaves what would be good habitat barren come fall. Does it have any positive attributes?

A stiff dose of powdered lime (out- house) followed by slow release pelletized will kill it stone dead in 2 rains. That's what Daddy told me my Grandpa did. It won't come back either as long as you throw some on the patch about every other year.

Yep, passionflower/maypops on the first one. Beautiful native plant with edible fruits. I would rather have it than most things I'd plant. As creekrunner said, second one looks like morning glory seedlings. Those are not good.

i bet I haven't had a maypop in over 20 years . I use to ride dirt roads that they would grow in the edge of the fields and wait till they turned yellow and pick them .good eating

After further examination, it seems my problem is more than likely being caused by the morning glory in the second pictures I added. (Thanks for the ID's everyone). The passion flower maypops can stay.

So now, I have egyptian wheat planted here (for cover and screening). The e.w. is coming in nicely and is already up about 3 inches. However there is indeed a massive morning glory infestation going on here as well. Is there anything I can spray to kill back the morning glory without affecting my e.w.?
