Carrying Concealed

I can not find a place to post this question, so I am asking this form. It is against the law to carry concealed in government buildings. If a WMA check station or a ranger station is inside a building, can one carry concealed in that building? I'm thinking specifically of Coopers Creek WMA where the ranger station is in a house(?) building.

Government buildings are usually a NO, being a WMA though may be different but I doubt it. I'd give them a call or go in unarmed the first time and look for signs and maybe ask.

I would think that you could carry . I know florida has a law that if your going fishing ,hunting,or camping you can legally open carry . However just to be safe I would give them a call and find out the true facts that being government facility it could end pretty badly.

If it is a federal building, then carry is very likely illegal. They are usually posted as such. If it isn't posted, I wouldn't worry about it.

If it is a state building, then carry is illegal if they have screening. If they don't have screening, then it is legal. The law clearly states it that way.

The WMA is state, but it is on USFS property, which is federal. That's where it gets tricky in figuring out.

Also, there is no distinction between open carry and concealed carry in Georgia, except for college campuses and Corps Of Engineers property (unless I forgot another type of place), and except for those places, anywhere in Georgia that you can carry concealed, you can also carry openly. We do not have concealed carry licenses in Georgia. We have carry licenses.

Call and ask their headquarters. The consequences of being wrong because someone on GON said it was okay may more than you want to experience.

Yes you can. If you have a valid Georgia Weapons Permit, you can carry open or concealed on WMAs and the buildings on them.

Government buildings are a no but WMAs and the buildings on them are OK.

They dont let you come inside the little building that comprises the checking station on Coopers creek anyway. You check in out front and if you score they use the little covered area out front/left to weigh them and pull a jawbone.
