It's been slow for me and i have had some work chores interrupt my hunting. I have been building a bar in Dalton and hunting bad bonding clients a bit. I had to write a Putnam County Bond and on the way home I stopped by a spot I hunt some and called a set. This small female could not resist kitten in distress, I could not get her to stop even with the Death Kiss so about the time she turned and was walking straight to me I let her catch a 70 grain soft point at 54 meters https://rumble.com/v5d87s1-death-kiss.html

First set produced a homeless tweaker camping in the woods high on meth, who is a old bonding client. seems the land owner has given him permission or so he says. The Land owner is a friend of mine and up in age so its entirely possible he has allowed this to happen; however, it needs to end, and the tweaker gone
Second set was a place I hunt that's been a Fairley consistent producer over the years and set up. played some distress calls and nothing showed so I decieded to play pound town this male came to it. 67 meters and the 55 grain soft point bid its thing.

Oglethorpe county field
1 Hunter with thermal and 300 blackout

Rode over to field, took thermal and heard a group of yotes at creek edge. Sat tight for a few minutes and a small fawn walked past truck. Yote came along 5 minutes later trailing her- shot the yote, then second one came into view. Shot it while trotting away. It ran over the hill and i wasn’t sure I killed it.

This morning went back and found both laying in edges of field.

Yessir! Talked with your buddy Greg B- had a pack of yotes kill a 40lb yearling on camera Thursday night. Think you went with him to my property to hunt once before, but told him y’all need to come back when can.

I have a thermal but I haven’t been doing any calling-

You got it Doc I am almost done building my bar in Dalton and should be able to hunt more soon. I have a farm over in Stephens and a bunch of pesty old yotes. I'm pretty sure I killed the Alpha female awhile back, and the male knows something is up Ive seen him twice once in turkey season and the other night. Screwed up and spooked him in turkey season and had him at 257 yards the other night just could not get him to step out of the tree line. Have you put your thermal on a gun and got it zeroed, if so let me know if you want to go hunt some

Yessir, got it on a 300 blackout, thinking about switching it over to a bolt gun for more range though.

Keith,6 out of 7 is awesome shooting! I’m guessing these were fresh cut hay fields.? A fresh cut hay field is a Summer time magnet..at least around me. Between that & this years pups being easy to call in now…you can really knock a dent in them;)

Charlie I suppose it would be a toss up between the 6cm and 243.

I shoot 87g vmax in my 6cm and Ken shoots the 75g vmax in his 243.

I’ve never given it any thought till now but I might be getting more pass throughs that him.

Michael shoot a 55g sierra bthp in his 223 and it kills them dead too.

But we all have those that we hit and believe they are dead and suddenly they come back to life and run off in the thick stuff never to be seen again

Sleepr71, the last two were on fresh cut hay. All the rest were on cattle pastures.

We do kill a good number on fresh cut hayfields though !

I got it from Amazon. They come in several different colors and have lots of interior storage pouches and compartments.

I believe it was around $35.

I have my scanner connected to the pouch with a tether so I can’t lose it. I leave the top main zipper open and when I see something coming……just drop the scanner in the pouch and get on my gun.

I really like it ! Works great.
