Here’s one l shot at friends land last night.

His teeth were worn and looked to be missing some.

He had been wanting me to kill some coyotes on his place for a while.

I kept waiting for him to shoot and he kept saying he couldn’t see it…..after I shot l found his lens cover was closed. Lol

He was on my spare gun and this was his first thermal hunt. I wish he could have taken the shot……it was only 75 yards.

So I turned a yote hunt into a pig hunt. Went 4 for 4 with the old 220 Swift. I was impressed with the 50 grain V Max, I reckon the fact that it's hopped up to 4000 fps + or - helps that little bullet. I have better luck with the 55 grain soft points on pigs they give me pass through holes most times with a broad side shot.

Found 3 of them and had one crawl off into the woods

Had a buddie call and said he had fresh cut hay so we went called a young male in on the first set. Did not get alot of video of this dog, the recorder has about a 5 or so second delay before it starts recording and La Trans was fixing to leave right before he caught a 50 grain V Max

We hunted 5 stands last night and had dogs talking to us on every one.

Taylor my buddy Ken’s son got his first coyote with a nice 145 yard shot. He’s home on leave from the Army. I shot one at 52 yards.

I’ve done the same Charlie. I’ve hunted a couple of times and didn’t post anything and the skeeters have drawn some blood from me too.

A property owner that lets me coyote hunt his place anytime except deer season (Ga is from early September to about the second week of January) texted me about 1 1/2 hours before dark saying it sounded like 5 or 10 were going crazy behind his barn.

An emergency vehicle had passed nearby with a siren on and set them off. He said come shoot them.

As hot as it’s been lately I really didn’t care to go but also didn’t want to lose his farm. He’s mentioned getting a trapper to me before.

I started hunting his property in January of 2022 and shot a coyote each of the first four times I hunted there.

My buddy Ken was up for going so we got there just after dark.

Ken spotted one when we weren’t 40 yards from the truck and I shot it at about 140 yards.

Shortly into the stand we spotted two at about 150 yards. One held back but the other kept coming and Ken shot it at about 40 yards. After that we did a count down and shot the other one together.

It wasn’t but a few minutes before we spotted two more. It took a good while before we had a chance to shoot with both stopped but when they did we dropped them on a count down at about 155 yards.

5 pups - 2 females and 3 males

The landowner was very happy ! He said you are welcome anytime…..l wanted to ask if that meant deer season too but figured I had better leave well enough alone. lol

Give it a week to cool down…then go in there with some “Pup Distress” calls…
I’m not a coyote hunter by any means , but most of the ones I’ve called up were with pup distress calls

I wasn’t planning to go last night but two different land owners texted that hay was cut on one property and another field had been bush hogged. We also went back to the property we shot 5 pups on two weeks ago. Was hoping we could run some pup sounds and lure the adults in but no luck with that.

Good shooting Keith.! Fresh cut hayfields are Magnets to all predators. My absolute favorite place to call in Summer..PLUS..you can actually see what’s on the ground( like Snakes) ;)

I've had some work disasters and have not hunted much, and the few times I have hunted have been in less than favorable conditions. I'd say that i probably have hunted 4 or 5 times and forgot to post em

I almost for got to ask, do we have anyone that hunts yotes near Dalton or Ellijay or has yotes they want gone. I'm building a Bar in Dalton and it looks like I'll be up here 3 or 4 days and nights a week for awhile

I hunted our place in Ellijay and was suppressed that I didn't see or hear a yote. I have never seen a lot of wildlife up here at night but I have not hunted this property much. I walked some the last time I was here and looked to see what's out here in the dark, I noticed there are not very many possums or coons here not a lot of rabbits either just makes me wonder what the predator population looks like
