I can't remember if it was 7 or 8...How many points for the last weekend?
As others have mentioned on here, they typically have three groups. If birds even attempt to work, a group will typically sky bust in the stratosphere because they know if they don’t, the other group will shoot them. Also, you can have a big group headed your way and another group skybusts, and it ruins that group. It can be hard to get decent shots. If you can work it out, combine forces with the other groups and hunt together. If everyone brings three then it can be a bit much, but still better than fighting each other. Many years ago only two groups showed up and we combined with them. There were a couple of kids with the guy and would let birds work and any that landed the kids water swatted, before we shot. We killed some birds that day. Much better than the first time when I went and we didn’t group up and it was a dove shoot like butler. Nothing could work, nothing could get below the stratosphere. If the other group is reasonable and you can combine forces, it makes it far more enjoyable.I'm hunting it next weekend.
I’ve hunted it twice this season, if birds work a group shoots birds are gone. Extremely hard to draw, extremely hit or miss on whether birds will be there. But typical GA duck hunting.
Good news is the other groups might not show....you could have it all to yourself.8 years to draw Dan Denton and its gonna be 70°, pouring down rain, and thunder storms Saturday morning
